Nacre explores the quiet accumulation of layers, where gestures, collisions, and traces gradually become a single surface. Like the natural formation of mother-of-pearl, each painting develops through time, with every mark responding to the one before it.
Nacre 00102 is built through successive layers of acrylic, oil pastel, and mixed media, allowing areas of raw canvas to remain visible as part of the composition. Rather than concealing the process, the painting preserves it, inviting the viewer to experience both the movement and the stillness held within the surface.
